The Aurora Women's Organization was formed on Dec. 13, 1923, when Mrs. T.J. Parker met with at least nine women at the Aurora Chamber of Commerce and formed the Republican Women's Club of Aurora.
The opening entry in the first book of minutes reads: "A group of women met in the Chamber of Commerce rooms and the Republican Women's Club of Aurora was organized. Mrs. Anne Forsythe gave an earnest talk on the importance of organization."
At that meeting, club officers were elected and a constitution was adopted.
