IFRW Spring Conference

The Spring Conference of the Illinois Federation of Republican Women will take place on Friday and Saturday, April 23 and 24, at Eagle Ridge Resort in Galena. To register, click here. For more on the Eagle Ridge Resort, click here. Map to Eagle Ridge.

In the rolling hills of Galena, lies a beautiful resort hotel with a wonderful view of the valleys and lakes that surround it.  The resort has many amenities, such as golf, tours, spa, pool, and an exercise room, to mention a few.  This is where we will have our Spring Conference.

Our Spring Conference will consist of a Friday night reception and dinner and the opportunity to mingle with our invited guests, the State Constitutional Officer candidates.  We can also learn about their plans for when they win their office.

Saturday morning begins with a large breakfast assortment.  We will have reports from the various chairmen on their committees and also listen to our invited speaker, Sue Lynch, President of NFRW.  We will adjourn to lunch and then breakout into two workshops: Membership and Constant Contact.  Our day will conclude with a silent auction and raffle; and the sale of our State IFRW Pins and the new NFRW WIN Pins. But your adventure doesn't have stop there.

You might consider staying another night, at our reduced price.  The amenities at this resort are fantastic and we invite you to enjoy the sites. Bring your spouse, or a friend, and tour the historic sites or play golf on one of the resort's four golf courses.  It is a great place to relax. Learn more at www.visitgalena.org

2010 Legislation Day

Plan on joining Republican women from across
Illinois as they come to Springfield for the IFRW 2010 Legislation Day. Organized by the Illinois Federation of Republican Women, the event begins with women meeting at the State Capitol rotunda closest to the House side at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 17. From there, we will head to the House and the Senate to observe legislators as they hold session.

Following session, we will meet in Illinois House Minority Leader Tom Cross' office for lunch, then trek over to Illinois Senate Minority Leader Christine Rodogno's office for dessert. Afterwards, we will head to the Abraham Lincoln Museum, at 212 N. Sixth St., to enjoy the exhibits there. Admission fee: $5.50. For more on the ALM, click here.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain a better understanding on how the legislative system works, and to get an up-close look at the Capitol. For directions, click here.

To confirm attendance, please email Carol Hornickle at carol.h@ifrw.org. Include your  cell phone number so we can get in touch with you that day, and indicate if you will be attending the museum tour. RSVPs needed by March 15.
