In her second term on the IFRW Executive Committee, Michelle has years of experience in promoting Republican candidates. Besides taking the helm of the IFRW this year, Michelle is running as a candidate for State's Attorney in  Carroll County.

Michelle received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Illinois State Univeristy and her Juris Doctorate degree from Northern Illinois University’s College of Law. She is presently a partner in the law firm of Nelson, Kilgus, Richey, Huffman & Buckwalter-Schurman.

Michelle's Republican involvement began at the college level, as a member of the Illinois State University College Republicans. She has coordinated Whiteside County campaigns for regional and state candidates, and has served as the President, parliamentarian and scholarship committee chair for Carroll County Republican Women.
