Having the privilege of representing each of you twice a year at the National Federation of Republican Women's (NFRW) Conference is a great experience. It's great to spend time with the Presidents of the other states. Each state has its own set of issues and successes. We learn so much from each other. The March meeting is always held in D.C. This gives NFRW State President Committee Members an opportunity to hear our national leaders and visit with our legislators. Most important is that it gives your President an opportunity to share with others what all of you are doing and to bring back to you issues as perceived at the National level. I never cease to be amazed at how differently some issues are perceived in D.C., as opposed to how we, in Illinois, perceive them. The Fall Meeting of NFRW is held around the country. Last year it was held in Nashville, Tennessee. The 2006 Conference will be held in Indianapolis, Indiana.
There are also Regional Meetings. In June 2007, Illinois will host the NFRW Region 4 Meeting in Springfield. Region 4 includes eight states: Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio and Tennessee. Members of Region 4 requested to come to Illinois in order to see the Lincoln Museum. Illinois is well on its way to preparing for this conference. We are honored that the members of Region 4 wanted to come to Illinois.
Hope to see all of you at the meeting. As your President, I have been most fortunate to have been invited to so many of your club meetings. I enjoy meeting our members, hearing their views on the issues and IFRW. Especially, I am so proud of all the activities our clubs and members are involved in; all of you need to publicize more of what you are doing. Let the world know the great things the Republican Women are doing.
Thank you for the opportunity of being your President.
